KITEBOARDING | INFO

Kiteboarding also known as kitesurfing is a new exciting water sport. It's a mixture of various extreme sports: windsurfing, paragliding, surfing, wakeboarding, skateboarding, and snowboarding . The first kitesurfing pictures were published in the magazines in 1996 with Manu Bertin in Hawaii. Since then the sport has gone worldwide. The population of kiteboarders is growing rapidly and there are at least 10 major specialized kiteboarding magazines and movies in the world. This sport can also be practiced on the snow, utilizing a snowboard, known as "Snowkiting"…!

Maui offers execellent conditions to learn to kite. Please contact http://www.ksmaui.com for setting an appointment for lessons.

HOW IT WORKS?

It's very simple. The kiter stands on a board with foot straps or bindings and uses the power of a large controllable kite to propel him and the board across the water. The kiter has full maneuverability and the capability to jump over 50 feet high, making kiteboarding really exciting to watch.
